Emirates Group Security receives appreciation from UK authorities

Dubai, UAE, 31 March 2019- Emirates Group Security, part of the Emirates Group, has been commended by the UK National Crime Agency for its support in fighting organised crime.

Patrick Moody, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the UAE and Paul Beaver, National Crime Agency Regional Manager presented a certificate of appreciation to Dr Abdulla Al Hashimi, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Group Security, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates Airline and Group. Staff from Emirates Group Security who had worked closely with the UK agency were also presented with individual commendations.

Emirates Group Security has been working closely with the National Crime Agency since 2013 and has supported the UK authorities by sharing information on suspects. Timely support provided by Emirates Group Security has helped in criminals being apprehended and convicted for the most serious crimes. In addition to the National Crime Agency, Emirates Group Security also responds to requests from other UK Law Enforcement Authorities, Courts and Intelligence Agencies.

Dr Abdulla Al Hashimi, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Group Security said: “Emirates Group Security is committed to taking an integrated approach with various national and international authorities in our efforts to tackle organised crime. We are also constantly evolving and upgrading our capabilities so that we are able to respond promptly to any requests from criminal investigation agencies from across the world. The appreciation from the UK National Crime Agency is a very important recognition for us and validates our efforts and investment to prevent crime.”

Paul Beaver, Regional Manager, National Crime Agency, UK said: “The commendations awarded to Emirates Group Security by Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the UK represents a strong partnership between Emirates Group Security, the NCA and Dubai Police. International partnership working is the most effective way to safeguard our citizens.”

Emirates Group Security has collaborated with and received recognition from a number of national governments including Canada, the Netherlands, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
