Emirates Aviation University Celebrates its 25th Graduation Ceremony

DUBAI, UAE – 12 May 2016 – Emirates Aviation University celebrated today its 25th graduation ceremony, honouring more than 250 students. Counting this year’s number of students, the university will have graduated more than 15,000 students since its inception in 1991.
His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive Emirates Airline and Group awarded degrees across multiple disciplines with hundreds of family and friends in attendance.
The graduating class of 2016 consisted of 173 undergraduate students, 77 postgraduate students including graduates from the Directorate of Military Training, Bahrain Defence Force, who received Bachelor Degrees in Aerospace Technology and 60 Emirates Group employees. The batch also includes a total of 30 UAE Nationals receiving graduate and postgraduate degrees.
Over the years, Emirates Aviation University (EAU) has grown from a small college to a full-fledged university offering more than 44 programmes in various fields of study. The growth of EAU underscores the demand for quality higher education in the UAE and the rapid development of the aviation industry in the MENA region. EAU continues to expand and strives to cement its position as the centre of aviation education excellence both nationally and internationally.
The university recently received recognition of its qualifications from the National Qualifications Authority (NQA).The federal authority’s acknowledgement provided the university with a significant recognition on a national level, positioning Emirates Aviation University as the first provider for vocational and applied qualifications in the UAE.
The 25th annual graduation ceremony was attended by Dr Abdulla Al Karam - Chairman of the Board of Directors and Director General of KHDA and representatives from EAU’s affiliated university Coventry University, Emirates Group and KHDA.
EAU remains committed to offering new and industry-relevant programmes. Some of the programmes currently offered by the University include: Master degrees in Aviation Security, Aviation Safety and psychology.
It also offers MBAs in Aviation Management and Logistics & Supply Chain Management; Bachelor degrees in Aerospace Technology, Avionics Technology, Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management and Applied Business; Diplomas and Higher Diplomas in Aeronautical Engineering, Avionics Engineering, Business Management and Aviation Operations.
