Thursday, May 4, 2017 —
DUBAI, U.A.E., 4 May 2017- Transguard has been awarded the Dubai Quality Award (DQA) at the 23rd annual Business Excellence Awards. The awards are organised by Dubai’s Department of Economic Development under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai and recognise organisational excellence in the Middle East.
Transguard is a division of Emirates Group Security (EGS) which provides highly secure transportation of valuable cargo and goods. Transguard provides safe, efficient and reliable logistical services to more than 100 destinations across the globe. Transguard is the only security agency authorised by Dubai Civil Aviation (DCA) to escort valuable cargo to and from the aircraft and is responsible for handling and managing the import and export process including vaulting for every piece of valuable cargo that passes through Dubai airports. Transguard is supported by dedicated police and customs authorities making it a unique one stop solution.
Earlier in 2016, Transguard registered for the DQA for the first time since it began its operations. Transguard was able to demonstrate that it had implemented the DQA Criteria model for achieving excellence in its day-to-day operations during this first attempt thereby qualifying to win the Dubai Quality Award (DQA).
This year’s DQA win is yet another remarkable addition to Transguard’s other internationally recognised accolades including achieving ISO 28000:2007 and ISO 9001:2015 certification. Against the backdrop of heightened security threat globally, the award is a testament of Transguard’s commitment to the highest level of quality, diligence and vigilance towards security. It also reflects the organisation’s agility to incorporate innovations in mobilising human capital and initiatives towards the pursuit of continuous improvement.
Transguard and Emirates Group Security are committed to progress in quality and innovation. Emirates Group Security’s Dubai Quality Award Appreciation (DQAP) win in 2012, and the Dubai Quality Award win in 2016 are a reflection of the organisation’s commitment to excellence in operations.
“Our team has worked very hard to excel across all our business processes. Winning the DQA was a result of collaboration and teamwork between all employees. We are very proud to have achieved this recognition in our first attempt. This award further affirms our commitment towards excellence,” said Dr Abdulla Al Hashimi, Divisional Senior Vice President, Emirates Group Security and CEO Transguard. “Employees at Transguard work as a family and understand the team’s commitment to excellence in service delivery for customers. We have been a pioneer in setting high standards in the industry, adhering to our core values, vision and mission.”
Transguard operates in compliance with ISO standards and the organisation’s valuable handling terminal is the first in the GCC region to be certified by the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA).
